The Paper Cup Project
Culture Project, 2008
Was a response to overflowing garbage cans both in my classroom and on the downtown Vancouver streets. The goal of the project was to raise awareness about the waste and encourage the use of sustainable alternatives.
The structure was fixed to a pole on the corner of Robson and Thurlow, a busy street where two Starbucks are located kitty-corner. Numerous holiday shoppers stopped to read the statements inscribed on the cups and take pictures of the tree.
